Zagreb-based furniture designer Hrvoje Vulama has recently sent us some photos of his enchanting chandelier design. Made of 258 separate pieces of oak wood and weighing around 15 kg, the interesting chandelier adds character and a feeling of hand-manufactured elegance to its surroundings. Finished with natural Tung oil, linseed oil and beeswax, the chandelier thrones in the middle of a room as if it was there from the very beginning. Its resemblance to a disco ball is amazing, but the choice of materials and carefully studied design lines bring it closer to a modern lighting object with a rustic impression. The designer explains how the wooden chandelier became more than an ambient light: “with this project I wanted to make an accent piece that caches the eye as soon as you enter the room. You either love it or hate it“. So, which one is it: do you love it or hate it?
