Showcasing a fascinating modern shape that can become a huge source of inspiration for many other homes, this next residence was designed by Damilano Studio Architects. Covering a built surface of 400 square meters, the residence named Horizontal Space is located in the Piedmont region of northwest Italy, in the town of Cuneo. Rising tall in a mountainside area, 800 meters above sea level, the residence displays a series of longitudinal spaces with constant height, creating two floors: the basement level – sheltering a garage and a games room – and the ground floor, featuring a large living room covered with wood floors and a series of public and private spaces. A long horizontal window links the kitchen to the outside views, while the other windows and hollow frames further connect the home to the surroundings. Looks like a perfect floor plan for a modern mountainside home, right?
